We haven't blogged for a while as we were very busy getting the Annual Art Expo ready and then taking it down and sorting all the art out. Just wanted to post some pictures of our Art Expo 2017.Thanks to everyone for all the help and support!

Weekly competition and Art work of the week.

The last weekly question proved to be quite tricky for everyone and was up on the wall for 3 weeks until a group of grade 5's figured it out. The answer was Mola. The grade 3's had been making their own Molas inspired by traditional craft from Panama.

How did the grade 2's make the bubbles on their Under the Sea pictures this week?

Weekly competition/ Grade 3's making Shadufs

The grade 3's worked in groups today to problem solve, design and build a model of a shaduf.
Congratulations to Remo, Tshego and Rorisang for correctly guessing Mrs Jolly's favourite colour as Lilac.

Weekly competition

For the month of May we have focused on interesting colours. Last week we looked at colours starting with the letter M, this week we looked at P;B and G. Congratulations to Cadence and Sarah in grade 5 for entering and winning both weeks. Remember to check the notice board each week and come and collect your box of smarties if you are the first one to get the answer correct.

This is what the children did for Valentines day this week. The weekly question was: What do we call a very interesting pattern that we decorated the hearts for Valentines Day with? The answer was a Zentangle. Congratulations to Matthew . Remember to come and collect your box of smarties!

Welcome to our blog after a very long absence.
Look what we have been up to at Southdowns College in 2017. Every child produced an Abstract art work to decorate the school.
